The Model for Healthy Living

Explore the Interconnectedness of Your Life

The Model for Healthy Living serves as the cornerstone for Church Health’s care and outreach. Joy or pain in one part of our lives inevitably affects overall health and well-being. A balanced, healthy life takes into consideration what is going on not just medically; it encompasses Faith, Movement, Work, Emotions, Nutrition, and Friends and Family as well as Medical.

These seven areas comprise the Model for Healthy Living.

Recognizing the relationships between all these parts of our lives, the Model reflects the realities of our everyday lives—families, jobs, schedules—and reminds us of areas we may neglect.

Faith Life

Faith traditions vary widely, but at the core, a faith life helps us build a relationship with God, our neighbors, and ourselves.

Medical Care

Doctors have education and experience, but we know ourselves better than any doctor ever will.

When we consider the way the parts of the body are hinged and rotate and reach in every direction, it’s easy to see that God means for us to move.

We were made to work, and the value of work is intrinsic.

Emotional Life

Through understanding our feelings, it’s possible to make changes to manage stress in healthier ways.

Good nutrition builds strong bodies that can lead us to being whole people better connected to God.

Friends & Family

Giving and receiving support through relationships contributes to our health.
