Courage for Caregivers Retreat

Church Health’s Faith Community Engagement team is dedicated to supporting the health, emotional and spiritual needs of our community. Our first Courage for Caregivers Retreat at Christ United Methodist Church, facilitated by Marjorie Thompson, author of the Courage for Caregivers series, will gather caregivers for a day away to renew the energies and callings of caregiving and reflect on the belovedness they share with the people they care for.
TIME & LOCATION
The retreat is on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Christ United Methodist Church, 4488 Poplar Ave. We’ll meet in the Wilson-Ross Building, rooms 415-416. This space is accessible by elevator and stairs. Handicap parking is available.
Doors will open at 8:30 a.m. with the program beginning at 9 a.m.
- All participants will receive a complimentary copy of Courage for Caregivers: Sustenance for the Journey and Courage for Caregivers: A Retreat Participant Workbook.
- Preregistration is required.
- Workshop includes complementary morning refreshments and lunch.
ABOUT THE FACILITATOR
Marjorie Thompson is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church USA. She has served as a teacher, writer, and retreat leader for more than 30 years. Henri Nouwen was one of her early spiritual mentors and a personal friend of her husband, John Mogabgab, who served as Henri’s teaching and research assistant for five years at Yale Divinity School.
