Youth Mental Health First Aid Training: July 2018
July 26, 2018 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Did you know that you are more likely to encounter someone experiencing an emotional or mental crisis than someone having a heart attack? The good news is that you can help them.
ABOUT THE CLASS
Youth Mental Health First Aid is designed to teach parents, family members, caregivers, teachers, school staff, peers, neighbors, health and human services workers, and other caring citizens how to help an adolescent (age 12-18) who is experiencing a mental health or addiction challenge or is in crisis. Youth Mental Health First Aid is designed for adults who regularly interact with young people. The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth, reviews typical adolescent development, and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations.
Church Health Behavioral Health is offering this 8-hour course on Thursday, July 26, 2018, at Church Health. There is no charge for this course, but you must register as space is limited. The registration deadline is July 20, 2018. For questions, email .
The training will be in Church Health’s Community Room, located between the Main and West Atria of Crosstown Concourse. All parking at Crosstown is free.
