Colossians 1:4, 9…for we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love that you have for all the saints…For this reason, since the day we heard it, we have not ceased praying for you and asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of God’s will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding…

After reading these verses today, I looked up the word prayer and found that it also means such things as desire, hope and wish, in addition to its more common usage as a plea or appeal. I can wish for healthcare justice and then choose to work among those who are marginalized by the system. In this way, I have come to realize, my life can become a prayer.

God who hears AND sees prayers, may our actions with and toward others be pleasing in your sight. Amen.
