Applicant Requirements
- Applicants must be high school graduates or equivalent and have completed a minimum of one semester of college.
- Preference will be given to applicants currently enrolled in college classes.
- Applicants must be able to make a commitment of at least one semester (fall, spring or summer), serving at least eight hours per week for a minimum of 10—12 weeks.
Important to Know
- All Church Health internships are unpaid internships. Academic credit is available for internship positions when the program is available through your college or university.
- The Church Health Internship Program operates under strict deadlines. Applications received after the posted deadlines will not be considered.
- Church Health does not have internship opportunities for graduate nursing students or other clinic-based practicums.
Internship FAQs
An internship at Church Health is a great opportunity to gain relevant experience in your chosen field. Interns work with professionals and develop meaningful relationships with other interns within the program.
Interns should meet the following requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old, a high school graduate or equivalent and have completed a minimum of one semester of college.
- Must make a commitment of at least one semester (fall, spring or summer), serving at least eight hours per week, preferably for 10—12 weeks.
Church Health interns are treated with the same respect as staff members and are expected to follow the same rules and guidelines. All interns must attend an intern orientation and are asked to commit to the policies and procedures of the Intern Handbook.
All Church Health internships are unpaid internships. Academic credit is available for internship positions when the program is available through your education institution. Church Health is glad to provide documentation of a completed internship and to complete the forms needed from your educational institution.
Note to applicants for The Well and Movement: Church Health is a non‐traditional Child Life setting and will not satisfy credit through the Child Life Council.
Each intern reports to a supervisor who oversees day‐to‐day activities and provides guidance. The volunteer coordinator works with the supervisors and interns to ensure the best possible experience for everyone.
It is required that all interns work at least eight hours per week; it is preferred that interns work for 10—12 weeks consecutively. If you are unable to commit to the number of hours per week, you may consider volunteering for Church Health. Please contact our volunteer coordinator for more information.
If you are able to intern for a period of less than 10 weeks, you may indicate that on your application and can still be considered for an internship.
