Job Description
The overall purpose of this position is to provide physical therapy. Physical therapists examine, diagnose, and treat individuals with injuries, disabilities, or other health conditions to improve movement, reduce or manage pain, restore function, and prevent disability.
Responsibilities
- Clerical Examine, evaluate, and test individuals with mechanical physiological and developmental impairments, functional limitations, and disability or other health and movement-related conditions to determine a physical therapy treatment diagnosis, prognosis, a plan of therapeutic intervention, and to assess the ongoing effect of intervention.
- Alleviating impairment and functional limitations by designing, implementing and modifying therapeutic interventions.
- Promoting and maintenance of fitness, health and quality of life.
- Educating and mentoring staff such as physical therapy students, residents, medical students, and scholars.
Qualifications
- CPR certification required
- 1-3 years of experience preferred
- Bachelor’s or master’s Degree, or Doctor of Physical Therapy from an accredited institution and licensed in PT by the state of TN.
Special Skills & Knowledge
- Knowledge of therapeutic procedures and use of treatment modalities and documentation skills.
- Knowledge of how to apply biomechanical and neurophysiologic principles in the practice of physical therapy using evidence-based practice.
- The ability to educate patients on injury prevention, health promotion, and maintaining physical well-being.
- Ability to communicate effectively both oral/written with a broad base of stakeholders.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently or in collaboration with other health care professionals.
- Ability to coach and provide instruction to others.
- Excellent time management skills.
