Affordable Care Act Marketplace Plans

About the Affordable Care Act

The Affordable Care Act, commonly referred to as Obamacare, is a federal law. It is designed to provide more Americans with affordable health insurance. It requires most Americans to have insurance coverage and puts an end to denying insurance based on pre-existing conditions.

How it Works

The ACA extends health insurance coverage to millions of Americans through existing programs and the private insurance market. It expands eligibility for Medicaid, makes private insurance more affordable by helping to pay part of the insurance premium, and allows children to stay on their parents’ private insurance plans until age 26.

Enrollment Assistance

Most people who get coverage through the Marketplace will find a plan for less than $75 a month. Church Health can help you determine if an ACA plan is best for you or your family, and we can even help you enroll!

The MEMPHIS Plan

About the Affordable Care Act

The MEMPHIS Plan is an affordable health care plan provided by Church Health for uninsured working people. It’s tailored to small businesses, the self-employed and individuals who fall within the gap of America’s current health care system because they earn too much to qualify for state or federal programs. It is not health insurance.

How It Works

If you qualify, the MEMPHIS Plan office will assign you and your dependents, if applicable, to one primary care physician who will charge you a $5 co-pay at each visit. This is in addition to your personal $50 per month monthly charge; if you are enrolled through your employer, they will contribute at least $10 per month. In addition, you will be assigned to a specific hospital in the case of emergency where you will pay a $5 co-pay per visit. Should you need care from a specialist, your primary care physician will make an appropriate referral, ensuring that the specialist’s services are covered under the MEMPHIS Plan.

Eligibility

To participate in the MEMPHIS Plan, employees and individually-enrolled participants must:
