Job Description
The purpose of the Primary Care Physician position is to identify, evaluate and address disease prevention and health care issues of the Church Health population while administering quality patient care. Educates patients and/or families about preventive care, medical issues and use of prescribed medical treatments and/or medications.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to diagnose medical and surgical problems and to prescribe necessary treatment and services for quality patient care; record the normal and abnormal data.
- Carry out therapeutic procedures such as cast application and removal, wound suturing and dressing changes.
- Take patient history, conduct physical examinations, and record the data in the electronic patient’s record; order and schedule laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures; explain the necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to the patient and/or families.
- Analyze new knowledge gained from conferences, workshops, professional literature, or ‘hands-on” training and assimilate this knowledge into clinical practice.
- Review statistical reports and analyses setting forth individual provider progress, as well as clinic population health progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate, medical school and graduate medical education from an accredited institution of medicine.
- Residency in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine or Internal Medicine/Pediatrics
- License to practice medicine in the State of Tennessee. Residency and Board Certification in Family Medicine.
- Preference for at least 2 years of Primary Care experience

- Knowledge of, and ability to comply with, codes, and standards related to OSHA, CLIA, HIPAA and other agencies regulating health care providers.
