Memphis artist Annabelle Meacham’s youth included a lot of travel and living overseas with her naval officer father and family. Travel gave her the privilege of seeing a lot of art in many places. With a degree in business management from Florida State University, she completed her personal dream by finishing her education at the Memphis College of Art in 1979. Since then, she has been continually active in the art and the gallery world here in Memphis.
She is represented by Jay Etkin Gallery, Memphis.
Artist Statement
“The moon and the owl has been a recurring theme in my work; this is the third one. I have no clear need for any symbolic reasons for my images, but am heavily invested in my love of the absolute beauty in nature. My cheerfulness allows me to live with and produce work that is supportive of joy.”
